1. What is Upromise?
Upromise is a free service designed to help families save more money for
college and, through the Upromise Schools Program, to raise much-needed
funds for local schools. Many parents see college as a necessity for
their children, and starting early and saving regularly can make all the
difference. K-12 schools are desperately in need of additional funds to
support valuable programs. Upromise is here to help with both.

19. How does my school earn money through the Upromise Schools Program? There are two ways your school can earn funds through the Upromise Schools Program:
20. How much money can my school earn from Bonuses?
Your school can earn up to $30 in First-Time Bonuses for each family that
links their Upromise account to the school and participates in certain
aspects of the Upromise Service. If only 100 parents, grandparents,
relatives and community members participate, your school could earn up to
$3,000! Schools will only be compensated for one member per household.
Here is the specific breakdown of First Time Bonus opportunities:
To get each of the bonuses described above, members must complete the relevant activity for the first time within 90 days of first linking their Upromise Account to a school account.
Participating schools will only be
compensated for one Member per household. In addition, Bonuses will only
be credited to a participating school if the school is linked to the
Member's Upromise account at the time the Bonuses are credited. If a
Member is linked to multiple schools at the time when Bonuses are
credited, such Bonuses will be divided evenly among all linked
participating schools. And, in addition to these First Time Bonuses, Upromise contributing companies will be offering additional bonuses from time to time. Be sure to visit www.upromise.com/schoolsspecialbonus frequently to learn about these special fundraising opportunities! 21. Are parents required to participate in all four First-Time Bonus activities in order to qualify?
No. Each activity offers a distinct opportunity for linked members to earn
money for your school. The more activities a parent participates in, the
more your school can earn.
22. How do parents share their rewards with my school?
In addition to the bonus opportunities described above, parents can choose
to allocate any portion of their Upromise rewards to your school. This
enables parents to continue raising funds for your school indefinitely,
just by participating in the Upromise service!

Your school is free to use the money for anything it wants. For example,
the money could fund a field trip, or buy books or other supplies for your

Existing members will be eligible for First-Time Bonuses for Upromise
activities that they haven't taken advantage of before. For example, if a
parent at your school who is already a Upromise member has never shopped
online through Upromise, that parent could qualify to earn a First -Time
Bonus the first time they shop online through Upromise within 90 days of
linking to your school. Furthermore, all Upromise members are eligible
to allocate all or some of their Upromise rewards to your school.

*529 plans are municipal securities. They may lose value and are not
government or FDIC insured.
26. Can family and friends participate in this fundraiser?

your school, provided they have not elected to remain anonymous. This
information will help you thank parents for participating.
28. When will my school be paid?
Payments of Bonus Funds and Shared Rewards will be made quarterly, in
September, December, March and June. Please allow 4-6 weeks for check
delivery. Only participating schools with a balance of $50.00 or more will
be issued a check in a given quarter. In addition, any Bonus Funds earned by
a school that is not enrolled in the Schools Program will be forfeited if
the school does not enroll in the Schools Program within 180 days after the
last day of the quarter in which a Member first earned Bonus Funds for the
school. Checks will be made payable to the participating school and sent to
the school address on file with Upromise. Schools may be required to provide
proof of tax-exempt status or complete a form W-9 prior to payment being
sent. Checks are void if not cashed within 90 days and will not be reissued.
29. Is this a program my school can participate in every year?

for years to come.
30. What is my job as the School Coordinator?
We have designed the Upromise Schools Program to be as simple as possible.
As the School Coordinator, your primary role is to get the word out about
the program to parents! School coordinators will have plenty of resources
available to them through the Coordinator Resource Center that they can
use to educate parents and encourage participation in the Program.
31. What happens if the School Coordinator responsibilities need to be transferred from one individual to another?
No problem. If you are transitioning your responsibilities as the School
Coordinator to another person, just update the coordinator contact
information through the "Update Profile" section of the Coordinator
Resource Center. You will be asked to enter the new coordinator's name and
contact information. Then, give the new coordinator your School ID and
Password so that s/he can log in to the account. The first time the new
coordinator logs in to the Coordinator Resource Center, they will be asked
to reset the account password and security question.
32. What if parents have children in multiple schools?
No problem! Parents can link their Upromise Accounts to up to ten schools.
When a parent has multiple schools linked to their account, the Bonuses
that they earn will be divided equally between schools.
33. Who do we contact for additional questions regarding this Program?
