You can receive 1 cent per gallon on regular, midgrade and premium gasoline as college savings when you purchase a total of 20 or more gallons of gas per calendar month at Exxon and Mobil locations using a registered card, or a Speedpass linked to a registered card.
Once you've purchased 20 gallons in a month, you'll get 1¢ for all the gallons purchased in that month - back to the first gallon.
NOTE: The ExxonMobil - Upromise program has changed. Beginning June 1, 2005, to receive contributions from ExxonMobil in a given calendar month, you must buy a total of 20 or more gallons in that month using credit or debit card(s) registered in your Upromise account, or a Speedpass linked to a registered card. Diesel, non-fuel, and fleet purchases are not eligible.
Please Note: Fleet credit cards (i.e., cards used by businesses to track the activity of multiple vehicles) are NOT eligible for use in this program. Purchases of diesel fuel, convenience store items, car wash, and repair bay charges are NOT eligible to receive college contributions.

1. How do I get college contributions from ExxonMobil for my gasoline purchases?
Simply pay for your gasoline purchase with an eligible credit, debit, or check card, or with a Speedpass linked to a card registered in your Upromise account. If you buy a total of 20 gallons or more in a calendar month, you'll get one cent for every gallon of regular, midgrade and premium gasoline purchased that month as college savings.
2. Do all Exxon or Mobil locations participate in the Upromise service?
Yes. You are eligible to receive a college contribution at over 14,000 Exxon and Mobil locations in the United States. Find an Exxon location or Mobil location now.
3. How soon after registering an eligible card in my Upromise account can I start receiving contributions?
You are eligible to start receiving college contributions from ExxonMobil approximately five to ten business days after registering your card(s). You can check the status of all your registrations in the Profile section of your account.
4. When will contributions from ExxonMobil appear in my Upromise account?
Contributions from ExxonMobil should appear in your Upromise account within approximately 30-60 business days from the end of the calendar month in which the qualifying purchase was made.
5. Can I use my Speedpass to receive college contributions?
As long as your Speedpass is linked to an eligible card that is registered in your Upromise account, you can use it to receive college contributions from ExxonMobil for your gasoline purchases, but only at locations participating in the Speedpass program.
6. Do I need to let the location attendant know I'm a member of Upromise?
No, one of the nice features of being a Upromise member is that you do not have to mention Upromise to get contributions. As long as you pay for your purchase with a card registered in your Upromise account, you will automatically receive your college contribution.
7. Can I receive college contributions from ExxonMobil for purchases other than gasoline?
No. At this time, only gasoline purchases at an Exxon or Mobil location are eligible.
