First Place

When you join Upromise a percentage of your qualifying spending with hundreds of companies can go towards helping homeless and challenged kids at First Place. Just take a few minutes to join and setup your account and then your everyday spending could generate hundreds of dollars in money for college for someone who really needs it.

First Place, based in Seattle WA, is more than a school for homeless children and families in crisis. It is a private, non-profit school and service agency devoted to helping children who are in transition, in crisis or homeless. First Place provides quality K-5 education and counseling and case management to help kids and families deal with traumatic situations. The students receive nutritious meals, clothing, school supplies, transportation, health screenings and referrals - all free of charge. In 2005, First Place became one of the first charities to establish a 529 plan to provide college scholarships to its alumni. The Today Show featured First Place as one of its top 5 charities in the nation in 2003. Hope, home, and education for every child, one family at a time. www.firstplaceschool.org
